My Children Safety

My Children Safety Tips

BACK ONLY – Always Put the baby down on its back every time. When the baby rolls over by itself it is fine. However
still start them on their back each time until they are one year old.

BINKY – Put the baby to sleep with a binky. This has been shown to reduce the SIDS rate. Start with one style of binky and use after every feed in the first couple of weeks. Some get it quickly, others will learn it with time.

Do Not Use BLANKETS – No blankets or bumper pads in the crib. After it's first birthday you may use one crib
quilt with the bottom tucked under the edge of mattress so it cannot pulled over the face.

NO STUFFED ANIMALS – At age 6 months age you may add one small Taggie are lovie or small stuffed animal is okay.

What about FAN – Using a fan in their room when the child is sleeping (box fan facing toward the wall or a ceiling fan). This has been found to reduce SIDS.

Food Safety -- Always be sure and check dates on all baby foods and foods before feeding. If consumed by that date, the formula or food must contain not less than the quantity of each nutrient as described on the label. Formula must maintain an acceptable quality to pass through an ordinary bottle nipple. If stored too long, formula can separate and clog the nipple.
It's always best to check dates on food prepared for children and babies, if you find outdated food you have said George Young children please consult a doctor.

Clean Hands -- This is common sense for everyone. Always wash your hands with warm soapy water before preparing food and if possible before handling babies. This helps prevent spread of germs and bacteria especially if you have a cold.

Labeling Your Kid -- Never put your children's name in clear sight- on backpacks, clothing, bikes or other places that can be clearly seen. Put the name inside the backpack are in a place that can not be seen by strangers.

Tag Your Children -- GPS this may seem to be a little extreme but when it comes to your children's safety this can be a great device. If your child gets lost our becomes a victim of a predator a GPS locator can really save the day.
